Big field in P’que Saturday chess

MANILA, Philippines - The 68th edition of first Saturday chess tournament gets going on Sept. 7 with a big field expected to compete at the Perez Bldg. Doña Soledad Ave. cor. Australia St. Better Living Subd. Parañaque City.

The tournament, open to all untitled and rated players with NCFP rating of 1950 and above, offers a top purse of P3,000. Events on tap are the seniors, collegiate, high school, elementary and women’s divisions.

The event is organized by the Parañaque Chess Association headed by Dr. Bong Perez and sponsored by Rep. Bambol Tolentino (Tagaytay City), Mayor  Edwin Olivarez, Vice Mayor  Rico Golez, kagawad Chona Navarro, Boy Francisco, Spare and Strike, Shakey’s Pizza (SM Bicutan Branch) and Organo Gold Phils.
