Del Rosario, Miranda pace WC National Final

MANILA, Philippines - Veteran internationalist Liza del Rosario and national bowler Raoul Miranda produced sizzling scores to lead the second batch of national finalists in the 2013 Bowling World Cup competition held recently in 13 different centers.

Miranda recorded a 12-game series of 2747 pinfalls to pace Richie Poblete (2669), Mar Serac (2637), Jeremy Posadas (2630), Jeff Carabeo (2470), Jay Catolico (2467), Paulo Valdez (2463) and Benshir Layoso (2461) in the men’s division.

Lara Posadas and Rachelle Leon were the next best scorers in the ladies’ group with l989 and l902, respectively.

The second batch of finalists will join other bowlers who made it to the national finals in the first qualifying period.

The men’s and ladies’ finalists will dispute the right to represent the Philippines in the 49th Bowling World Cup international finals schedule on Nov. 15-24, this year at the Sibiryak Center, Krasnoyarsk, capital city of Russia, province of Krasnoyarsk, Siberia.

The national finals will be held on Sept. 14-15 at Coronado Lanes (StarlanesP, Sept. l7-18 at Paeng’s Midtown and Sept. 20 at SM Mall of Asia.

Busan Asian Games gold medalists RY Bautista and national bowler Krizziah Tabora carried the Philippine colors in last year’s international finals in Wroclaw, Poland. Tabora landed in 14th place while Bautista finished 34th.
