Pingris returns, leads Mixers over TnT
MANILA, Philippines -- Marc Pingris brought in high-energy performance in his return to the San Mig Coffee fold, collecting 23 points and eight rebounds to help the Mixers end a two-game losing spell with a 118-99 win over the Talk n Text Tropang Texters in the nightcap of the PBA Governors' Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena Sunday night.
Probably taking the cue from Pingris, James Yap broke out of his personal slump, firing away 21 points after going 2-of-24 from the field in their first two games.
“We caught Talk n Text at a real good time. We’re coming off two losses. James (Yap) got going early, Marqus (Blakely) made his first free throw and Ping (Marc Pingris) was such an awesome defender,†said San Mig coach Tim Cone.
