San Andres, Ramento head nat’l moto race

MANILA, Philippines - Kenneth San Andres and Ralph Ramento gear up for an explosive duel as they head the field in the seniors category of the NAMSSA national moto series at the NAMSSA Speedworld motocross track at SM Bicutan today.

San Andres, a four-time national motocross rider of the year awardee and the current leader in the Pro Open and Pro 125 category, faces a tough challenge from Ramento, last year’s National moto rookie of the year in their battle for top honors in the senior events.

Two-time Asian Junior 85cc Moto champion Mark Reggie Flores and last year’s National Junior 85cc moto winner Gabriel Macaso banner the cast in the junior division of the event serving as part of NAMSSA’s National Motocross Development Program.

Over 100 entries are expected to vie for top honors in 15 categories in the day-long event. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. with practice sessions set at 8 a.m. The event proper will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The NAMSSA’s NMDP is recognized by the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee. The backers of the event are SM City Bicutan, Repsol, Asia Brewery, Inc., Otto Shoes, Twinky, Monark Heavy Equipment, Yamaha Motor Phils., Inc., Suzuki Phils., Inc., Honda Phils., Inc., OAS, JBS, GCG Pipes, Shaders Glass and Aluminum Products, Topmaster, Danna Trading, Foilacar, Puerto Princesa City and Parañaque City.
