Aldo Avinante - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Iran once again provided notice of their readiness to take back the crown with another dominating 85-53 victory over Kazakhstan in the final day of the second round of the 27th FIBA Asia championship at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay Wednesday.

Hamed Haddadi  registered 16 points to spearhead Iran, which topped group F with a perfect 5-0 mark.

The 2007 and 2009 champions remain undefeated in the tournament and won all their games comfortably, including matches against Asian powers China and Korea.

The Iranians go for redemption against Jordan, their tormentor in the tournament’s edition Wuhan, China two years ago.
