MANILA, Philippines - The first MVP Sports Foundation National Women’s Beach Volleyball Invitational will be played Aug. 3-4 at the sand court of the Cantada Sports Center in Bagumbayan, Taguig City.
Top teams, including Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, Adamson University, National University, Rizal Technological University and University of the East are seeing action in the inaugural tournament backed by the MVP Sports Foundation.
Also vying in the event are Iloilo, Philippine Army, Philippine Navy and Philippine Air Force.
The other backers of the tournament are the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Toyota Balintawak, Toyota Otis, Toyota Marilao, Philippine Flour Mill, Puyat Steel, Tanduay Rhum, Nagaraya Nuts, Maynilad Water and sports benefactors Atty. Gilberto Duavit and Lucio “Bong†Tan Jr.
Sen. JV Ejercito has been invited to make the ceremonial serve in the event organized by sportsmen Edgardo “Boy†Cantada and Gerard Cantada.
All participants are billeted at the Cantada Sports Center starting Aug. 2.
Games will be aired on a later date.
