Mandanas rules 7th leg of jungolf school season

MANILA, Philippines - Aniceto Mandanas captured the boys Class A plum with 96 Molave points in the seventh leg of the ICTSI-JGFP School Season Series conducted by The Junior Golfers League at the hazard-laden Club Intramuros in Manila.

Mandanas returned scores of 49 and 47 in the best two-of-three format, defeating Kate Enema (82) and Carlos Cruz (54) for the top plum in the 15-17 years bracket of the tourney held under the auspices of the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines.

The other boys winners of the leg were Kendrick Diaz in Class B, Karl dela Torre in Class C, Sean Ramos in Class D, Joaquin Hernandez in Class E and Miko Granada in Class F.  Girls winners were Lizbeth Alcantara in Class A, Tomi Arejola in Class C, Mikaela Arroyo in Class D, Annika Chua in Class E and Alexi Blanco in Class F.

The International Container Terminal Services, Inc. is the major backer of the series. It is also sponsored by Pancake House, Sizzlin’ Pepper, Yellow Cab, Golf Depot and McDonald’s.

The eighth leg winds up at the Army Golf Club today after last week’s first round at Aguinaldo with the ninth stop to be hosted by Valley on Aug. 3-4.

Class A Boys – Aniceto Mandanas 96, Kate Enema 82, Carlos Cruz 54; Girls – Lizbeth Rev Alcantara 66

Class B Boys – Kendrick Diaz 94, Jacob Yulo, Karl Enema 79 

Class C Boys  – Karl dela Torre 86, Kobe Diaz 77, Chap Samson 70; Girls – Tomi Arejola 68, Mariel Tee 59

Class D Boys –  Sean Ramos 80, Maio Castaneda 78, Barri Nolasco 74; Girls – Mikaela Arroyo 31, Lauren Justin Teh 31, Teresa Agdamag 28

Class E: Boys –  Joaquin Hernandez 65, Yuan Arbatin 55, Kirk dela Cruz 40; Girls – Annika Chua 47, Princess Pascua 46, Monique Arroyo 44

Class F Boys –  Miko Granada 71, Joshua Cole Cruz 61, Santino Pineda 21; Girls – Alexi Blanco 55
