Football greats in ‘dream match’

MANILA, Philippines - Former Chelsea FC great Dennis Wise and 2006 FIFA World Cup champion Fabio Cannavaro will spice up action in the second Clear Dream Match, the country’s premier all-star football game featuring the national team players, headed by Phil and James Younghusband.

Wise and Cannavaro will lead Team Phil and Team James in the Aug. 24 event which also serves as a fund-raiser. The composition of each squad will be determined through voting ongoing at www.facebook.com/ClearPH.

The top 30 players will be drafted by James and Phil on Aug. 10.

“We wanted to shake things up this year by bringing in two international football legends to compete with our country’s best,” says Clear Phils. brand manager Drew Copuyoc.

Team Phil beat Team James, 5-1, in last year’s inaugural of the event also held to raise funds for the Tuloy sa Don Bosco Foundation as well as Unilever Personal Care products for all children in the foundation.

Both seasoned pros, Wise and Cannavaro had garnered several individual and team accolades in their time.
