40 teams vie in SBP, Passarelle

MANILA, Philippines - Twenty-two teams are seeing action in Passarelle and 18 in Small Basketeers Philippines which kicked last Sunday at the Xavier Sports Complex in San Juan.

Thirdy Ravena, Best Center graduate and member of 3-on-3 team that won the FIBA Asia in Bangkok, Thailand, gave the inspirational talk during the opening ceremonies attended by league officials that include Small Basketeers Philippines vice president Gigi Prats and Sherilla Mae Bayona, Nestle Philippine business executive manager for beverages.

Nic Jorge, president of Best Center Sports, opened the tournament officiated by referees from Nabro headed by Rolly Omampo.

In her welcome remarks, Prats extolled the participants and the school owners for their unwavering support to the longest running basketball competition.
