Singaporeans best in SEATTA jr tilt

MANILA, Philippines - Singapore dominated the 19th Southeast Asian Table Tennis Association Junior Championship by winning eight gold medals along with five silver and five bronze medals to become the overall champion at the Garden Square of Harrison Plaza Mall in Manila last Tuesday.

Singapore, a Southeast Asia’s powerhouse team in table tennis, snared gold medals in girls’ singles 15-Under (Ang Wan Qi), girls’ singles 18-U (Lin Ye), boys’ 18-U singles, girls’ 15-U doubles, girls’ team event 18-U, mixed doubles, boys’ 18-U doubles and the girls’ 18-U doubles events.

Thailand placed second overall with three golds with five silvers and six bronzes, followed by Malaysia with two golds, two silvers and four bronzes. Vietnam tallied only two silvers and six bronzes while host Philippines settled for three bronze medals.
