Eagles, Archers head winners

MANILA, Philippines - Ateneo, La Salle, Xavier and Adamson overpowered their respective rivals to kick off their respective campaigns in the 11th Fr. Martin Cup Division 2 basketball tournament at San Beda gym in Manila last Sunday.

Joma Adornado scored 13 points while Jerie Pingoy shot nine markers for the Blue Eagles, who beat the Diliman Preparatory School, 69-42, while Cameroonian Benoit Mbala fired 21 points for the Green Archers, who held off the National University Bulldogs, 66-60.

Jarrell Lim came away with 13 points as the Xavier Stallions routed the Emilio Aguinaldo College-ICA Brigadiers, 80-41.
