NU jrs blasts UPIS on Cauilan exploits

MANILA, Philippines - John Cauilan poured in 25 points and hauled down 10 rebounds to lead National University past UP Integrated School, 93-65, for the Bullpups’ second straight win yesterday in the UAAP Season 76 juniors basketball action.

University of Santo Tomas, on the other hand, beat Adamson University, 84-69, behind Paulo Corre’s double-double effort of 17 points and 11 rebounds and La Salle-Zobel drubbed University of the East, 79-45, to seize the solo lead with a 3-0 record.

Defending champion Far Eastern University-Diliman nipped Ateneo in overtime, 74-70, to finally barge into the win column.

Yesterday’s matches were played at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and at the Ateneo Blue Eagle gym. Juniors action will resume on Sunday as Ateneo standouts Matthew and Michel Nieto, Jolo Mendoza and FEU-Diliman’s Richard Escoto will join the national team to the Fiba Asia Under-16 tournament.
