Bautista cops NCA cocker of year honors

MANILA, Philippines - Gov. Claude Bautista capped a sterling year-long performance of his top entries by bagging the National Cocker Alliance Cocker of the Year crown during awards rites at the EDSA Shangri-La yesterday.

Bautista beat the tandem of Tommy Chua and Osang dela Cruz for the NCA’s top award.

Meanwhile, the NCA six-cock stag derby circuit will resume Sept. 10 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The derby, hosted by Ito Ynares, the Firefly Group, Bebot Uy, and Johnny Jalandoni, will accept weights of 1.700 to 2.200 kgs. with no entry to submit more than two weights that is within 1.7 to 1.730 kgs for the bottom weight, and 2.170 to 2.2 kgs for the top weight.

The accepted bands are NGBA, GF, MIGBA, SGBA, BBC, PAGBA, RGBA, CVBA, LGBA and UNIGBA, according to the NCA committee headed by Johnny Jalandoni of Negros Occidental.
