Firearms law seminar up at arms show

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The A2S5 Coalition, a multi-sectoral group of responsible gun owners, will lead a panel discussion on the new gun law recently signed by President Aquino during the 21st Defense & Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) Part 1 on July 18-22 at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.

Also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, the A2S5 Coalition, led by Atty. Judo Bonifacio, will hold a free lecture on the new gun law, particularly on the issues of gun registration and licensing.

Aside from this, there will also be free seminars on gun safety and responsible gun owners during the five-day gun show. Expected to be tackled is the government’s “Oplan Katok” or house-to-house campaign aimed at reminding owners of firearms with expired license to renew their license.

During the DSAS opening rites on July 18, the Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers  will also honor the Filipino contingent that clinched top honors in the 2013 Australasia competition in New Zealand last March.
