Fans treated to Game 7 made in heaven

Alder Almo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -- Epic. Classic. Congrats Miami Heat. Hail the King.

Those buzz words dominated the Twitterverse on how fans have appreciated the Game 7 of the NBA Finals that saw Lebron James and the Miami Heat under the guidance of Fil-American coach Erik Spoelstra basked into the glory of back-to-back championship. The Heat won in a nerve-wracking 95-88 finish to what will go down as the most watched NBA Finals game in the Philippine TV history.

While the Twitter timeline was flooded with NBA-related tweets, local hoops fans packed the Basketball TV's live viewing party at Skinny Mike's, a sports bar located in the heart of Global City at The Fort.

An overflowing crowd that was bonded by the love of the game but were divided by their loyalties to either teams were all witnesses to greatness. It was a scene that, perhaps, was mirrored in the other parts of the world.

On a historic Friday noon, Thursday night in Miami, fans from the social media to the sports bar and to wherever there's a TV broadcasting the game witnessed a game 7 that was made in heaven.

Fans were treated to a finish that everybody wished for -- going down-to-the-wire.

The San Antonio Spurs felt the pain in Tim Duncan's heart when he flubbed twice for a chance to tie the game then Heat fans rejoiced in vindication when Lebron James pulled up for a dagger of a jumper that all but sealed it.  It was the two most important moments that defined the Spurs and the Heat in this series.

The end of the Tim Duncan-Manu Ginobili-Tony Parker era. The start of King James' reign.
