Unicorns, UP clash for Ateneo volley title

MANILA, Philippines - Unicorns and UP scored victories in contrasting fashions to arrange showdown for the Ateneo Open 3 volleyball crown at the Blue Eagle gym yesterday.

With Fille Cainglet on the firing end, Unicorns defeated the All-Star Cast, 25-21, 25-19, while the Lady Maroons drew a big game from Angeli Araneta to stun defending champion Hope-Laiya Coco Grove, 25-18, 21-25, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Makati Idols and Team Agot-A forged a championship duel in the men’s side after the former tripped UP MVP Alumni, 25-17, 25-18, and the latter edged Team Agot-B, 10-25, 25-23, 16-14.

The champion in the women’s and men’s divisions will receive P15,000 each while the second and third placers will get P9,000 and P6,000, respectively.
