Double bogey drops Salvador to 16th

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Elmer Salvador threw away two strokes on a double-bogey on the 16th hole and slid to 16th place, eight shots off the pace, after the penultimate round of the Queen’s Cup at the Santiburi Samui Country Club in Samui, Thailand yesterday.

Salvador holed out with a one-over 72 after a 68 and a 70 in the four-day event now paced by Mohd Siddikur after a 67 spiked by seven birdies against three bogeys.

Running second after the second round, Siddikur strung up four birdies in the backnine and wrested the lead from Japanese Daisuke Kataoka who tumbled down to sixth after a fat 74 for a six-under 54-hole total.

Salvador went one-under early with a birdie on No. 2 and rolled on with pars until shooting himself in the foot with the double-bogey on the 16th.
