One FC blockbuster card slated

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The ONE Fighting Championship returns to Indonesia in September with another blockbuster card being lined up, including the flyweight championship featuring Japanese veterans Shinichi Kojima and Yasuhiro Urushitani at the 15,000-seater Istora Senayan.

The fierce sporting rivalry between Indonesia and Malaysia will also be put into focus on the Sept. 13 event with former’s Stefer Rahardian and Vincent Majid face the latter’s Raymond Tan and Eugenio Tan, respectively.

“ONE FC will be back in Jakarta in September with a stacked fight card that is sure to get the adrenaline pumping for the passionate Indonesian fight fans,” said ONE FC CEO Victor Cui.

Tickets for Jakarta are now on sale at Kiostix (www.kiostix.com).

Fans from around the world can also view the action online live via streaming at www.onefc.livesport.tv. The first two undercard fights are available for viewing free-of-charge and the main card fights will be available for purchase at just $9.99.

Urushitani, one of the most respected mixed martial artists in the flyweight division, has fought all over the world and is a former Shooto bantamweight champion noted for his accurate counter strikes and slick submissions.

Since his debut in 2001, he has racked up a record of 20 wins, six losses, and six draws. He earned his ONE FC title shot by defeating Filipino standout Rey Docyogen in Manila recently.

Kojima is also a former Shooto bantamweight champion who had a three-year unbeaten streak.

The two fighters had actually met twice, both ending in draws, making their upcoming showdown a rubber match of sorts.
