Laguna, Cebu dispute lead in Youngstars

MANILA, Philippines - Laguna and Cebu, the only undefeated teams in the National Finals of the Coca-Cola-PBA Youngstars, clash today for sole leadership at the JCSGO gym.
Gametime is at 8 a.m. followed by the matches between Cagayan de Oro and Kabaka-Manila at 9:30 a.m. and San Juan versus Pampanga at 11 a.m.
Tied with 4-0 slates, Laguna and Cebu earlier picked up two easy wins in the past two days. Laguna routed San Juan, 105-72, Tuesday and then rolled over Kabaka-Manila, 68-42, yesterday.
Cebu, meanwhile, turned back Kabaka-Manila, 49-39, before brushing aside Pampanga, 61-49.
Pampanga is at third place with a 2-2 win-loss slate followed by Kabaka-Manila (1-3), Cagayan de Oro (1-3), and San Juan City (0-4).
The Pampangos edged Cagayan de Oro, 73-70, two days ago while Cagayan de Oro handed San Juan its fourth straight loss, 79-73.
Gio Calacalsada (25 points) and Luke Irvin Sese (17) starred for Laguna in their victory over San Juan while Sam Abuhijleh (19) and Juan Moleta (15) took care of business against Kabaka Manila.
Cebu relied on Jun Ken Manzo (21 and 23)), Dan Dexter Siloria (6) and John Kirk Gonzaga (6).
against KABAKA-Manila, and also against Pampanga, along with Orlan Wamar and Theo Joshua Flores (11 each).
The finals is tomorrow, 3 p.m., at the Blue Eagle gym in Quezon City.
