Vicencio, Pe advance in Toby’s tilt

MANILA, Philippines - Mikaela Vicencio slammed Mia So, 6-1, 6-0, and Lourdez Pe repulsed Denise Bernardo, 6-4, 6-3, to advance to the next round of the girls’ 12-under division in the Toby’s Sports-Prince Tennis Festival 2013 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center yesterday.

Erika Claude Manalo likewise made it through by blanking Jillian Velasco, 6-0, 6-0, while Alexandra Eala swamped Minette Bentillo, 6-1, 6-0, and Blanche Lagrisola thumped Anna Laura Demver, 6-1, 6-2.

Maxine Martin and Marie Beatrice de Ocampo scored walkover wins over Kryshana Brazal and Christy Sanosa, respectively, in the tournament sponsored by Toby’s Sports and Prince.

In the girls’ 16-under division, Rafaela Villanueva dumped Frances Diana Viloria, 6-0, 6-1, Sophia Yap downed Mae Ibaza Perez, 6-2, 6-2, Frances Angela Santiago trounced Johanna Therese Capinpin, 6-2, 6-0, and Katrina Isabel Marie Penaflor bested Rose Angelie Ferolino, 7-5, 6-0. 

Chloe Marie Saraza and Princess Catindig also won via default against May Labraque Reyes and Alexis Bangayan.
