Stallion grounds Air Force in UFL
MANILA, Philippines - Matthias Bonvehi and Nathaniel Andrew Alquiros each scored a brace as Stallion FC whitewashed Air Force FC, 6-0, to fortify its grip of the First Division lead in the United Football League at McKinley Hill grounds in Taguig Thursday.
Bonvehi scored on the 47th and 80th minute while Alquiros struck on the 52nd and 70th to help the Stallion booters nail their 13th victory against a loss to remain comfortably perched at No. 1 with 39 match points.
Lee Won Hyung and Hector Zaghi accounted for Stallion’s other goals on the second and 56th, respectively.
Stallion thus hiked its lead over Global from two to five points as the latter is at No. 2 with 34 points on 11 wins and a draw against a defeat. Loyola Meralco Sparks is at No. 3 with 32 points on 10-2-2 (win-loss-draw) slate.
Air Force remained with only six points to show on two wins against 12 defeats.
In the only other match, PSG FC smashed Nomads FC, 7-2, to climb from No. 7 to No. 6 with 14 points on four wins and two standoffs against eight defeats.
