Gonzales, Virtucio gain in Toby’s netfest

MANILA, Philippines - Cenon Gonzales, Jr. slammed Mark Ilano, 6-0, 6-0, and Arsheile Izaak Virtucio edged Santino Vistan, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (6), to advance to the third round in the 14-under division for boys in the Toby’s Sports-Prince Tennis Festival 2013 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center yesterday.

Marraphael Teng downed Jennard Gonzales, 6-2, 6-2, Gabriel Tiamson trounced Jan Daniel Enicame, 6-2, 6-2, Vincent Anida blanked Jan Jenric Guanzon, 6-0, 6-0, Michael Eala walloped Leo Angelo Cordero, 6-0, 6-0, and John Merwin Estrellado smashed France Jason Viloria, 6-0, 6-1, to likewise surge ahead.

Also making it through were Lorenzo Jose Manuel Cruz, a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Jan Andrei Torres, Kyle Raphael, who spanked Nio Tria, 6-3, 6-3, Martin Jacob, a 6-0, 6-0 victor over Joseph Greg Illo, Mimo Tomacruz, who tripped Pancho Santos, 6-1, 6-1, Angel Bryan Reyes, who beat Joseph Anida, 6-2, 6-4, and Emmanuel Fuellas, who win it over Vergel Ramos, 6-0, 6-0.

Some early entrants in the 18-under boys section were Elijah Peter Pangilinan, who outduelled Abdullah Madcasim, 6-0, 6-4, Raphael Enriquez, who turned back Jose Felipe Mapa, 6-3, 0-6, 12-10, Wilmer Sabas, who defeated Lorenzo Santos, 6-1, 6-2, Ralph Ian Sevilla, a 6-2, 6-0 winner over Tomas Puno, and Elijah Arevalo, who grounded Bojo Pabalate, 6-1, 6-1.
