Folayang returns vs Shalorus in One FC: Rise to Power

MANILA, Philippines – Local MMA star Eduard Folayang will try to bounce back from a disappointing loss as he sees action in One Fighting Championship: Rise to Power on May 31 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Baguio-based Folayang, a product of the famed Lakay stable, will take on seasoned veteran Iranian-American Kamal Shalorus in his fourth One FC appearance.

Folayang will try to erase the stigma of his recent loss to lightweight Lowen Tynanes, who exposed a glaring weakness of Folayang – grappling.

Folayang is known for his deadly striking abilities but Tynanes neutralized that strength and dominated the Filipino in his own country.

Showing true grit and character, Folayang, also known as “The Landslide,” is determined to come back stronger and decided to train at top Brazilian Jiu Jiutsu gyms in California.

The Asian games gold medalist trained with esteemed Team Reign and Team Drsydale to compensate for his supposed flaws in the octagon.

For his part, Shalorus, a world-class wrestler yearning for an auspicious debut under the One FC umbrella, is eyeing to defeat Folayang in his hometown.
