Eight-year-old Bianca champ in the making
MANILA, Philippines - If her latest performance at the Batangas Racing Circuit recently is an indication, young Bianca Denise Luzung Bustamante may yet become a karting champ both in the Philippines and Asia.
Only 8, Bustamante already showed the trappings of a future champ by finishing runner-up in the Formula Cadet Expert division of the 2013 Coca-Cola Karting Super Series.
She’s the most consistent among the young kids in the combined Formula Cadet race as she ended fourth in the qualifying heat, third in the pre-final heat, just 0.347 of a second behind the winner and third overall in the final heat, just six seconds behind Formula Cadet Expert champion Flynn Jackes.
Bianca likewise finished fifth in the Mini-ROK division.
Her first coach is her dad, former karter Raymund. She undertook further training under Formula E Racing Management CEO Elson Carpio, who said her latest performance has prepared her for her first international stint in the Philippine leg of the Asian Karting Open.
“I got nothing but praises for Bianca. Her Batangas feat proved that she’s not just any skilled karter who can deliver,†said Carpio.
