In Photos: 7-foot-6 Yao Ming meets 5-foot-2 VP Binay

MANILA, Philippines – Former Chinese NBA star Yao Ming, who is in town with his Shanghai Sharks basketball team, paid a courtesy call to Vice President Jejomar Binay at the latter’s official residence at the Coconut Palace on Monday.

The 7-foot-6 Yao, who saw action for the Houston Rockets, handed Binay a jersey and posed for some customary photos.

Yao and his team are here upon the invitation of the Philippine Sports Commission for friendly exhibition games with a selection of Philippine basketball players and to conduct basketball clinics to less-privileged children.

The Sharks face the Smart Gilas national basketball team tonight at the Mall of Asia Arena.
