MercedesTrophy on at Sta. Elena

MANILA, Philippines - The eighth MercedesTrophy National Final, an exclusive tournament for Mercedes-Benz owners organized by CATS Motors, Inc., fires off today at the Sta. Elena Golf Club in Calamba, Laguna.

CATS chairman Greg Yu and president Felix Ang will join the 216 participants in the one-day event to determine the country’s representatives to the Asian Final in Queensland, Australia.

Seven Mercedes-Benz owners, comprising champions and runners-up of Classes A, B and C and one lady winner will make up the CATS-Phl Team that will be flown via Singapore Airlines in August.

 Yu and Ang will hit the ceremonial ball with Eric Alberto, Ed Chua, Reto Klausser, Bobby de Ocampo, Benito Lim and Gerald Abrogarto to open the event sponsored by PLDT, Shell V-Power Nitro+, Makati Shangri-La, Seaboard Insurance, Arrow Shirts and TW Steel.

Sta. Elena Properties, Security Bank, Duty Free, Johnnie Walker, Canon, Asia Brewery, Impact and Business Mirror are backers.

The players will also have the chance to win a Mercedes-Benz ML350 AMG SUV, a full-frame Canon 6D DSLR camera with 105mm lens and TW Steel watches staked as hole-in-one prizes.

As additional treat, Makati Shangri-La will put up a marquee tent on No. 1 where it would feature the famous prime roast of its Circles Event Café along with other samplers.
