MANILA, Philippines - Fil-Swiss driver Marlon Stockinger and the Lotus Formula One Team take center stage at the Manila Hotel tonight to unveil and rev-up the Lotus F1 car that will be the focal point of the Manila Speed Show this weekend at the Quirino Grandstand and the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Lotus F1 Team Principal Eric Boullier, along with officials of Manila and Pasay City and representatives of the Department of Tourism, Department of Trade and Industry, Globe Telecom, Inc., and Thomas Stockinger, president of the organizing Peregrine Falcon Corp., will grace the gala night starting at 6 p.m.
“The Manila Speed Show will showcase some of the F1 cars never before seen on Philippine soil, with the end in view of enhancing Filipino interest and appreciation of F1 international car racing and rally support behind Marlon Stockinger,†the show’s organizer said.
Stockinger, 21, became a member of the Lotus F1 Team last February, joining six other junior drivers. They are supported by Lotus in areas such as driving skills, physical fitness, health and nutrition, social and mental development, business ethics and principals, as well as PR training in preparation for their future careers.
