PNoy invited to grace Speed Show

MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino has been invited to grace the “Manila Speed Show” this weekend that will feature Fil-Swiss driver Marlon Stockinger and a Lotus Formula One car that will be paraded in the streets of Manila and Pasay.

Under the program prepared by organizers, the Chief Executive will be taken on a spin around a specially-designed course at the Mall of Asia grounds on a two-seater Lotus car that will be driven by Stockinger.

The two-seater car, along with the Formula One car, arrived last week along with one static (display) car and four simulators that will be displayed at the MOA grounds during the show.

“We really hope the President accepts our invitation. I will be honored and delighted to drive for him,” Stockinger, 21, said in an email message from Aragon, Spain where he is competing in the second leg of the 2013 World Series by Renault.

The Lotus Formula One car will be unveiled and revved-up in a gala night on May 3 at the Manila Hotel.
