MANILA, Philippines - Ducati Philippines will be staging a three-leg series dubbed Ducati Cup 2013 featuring the country’s finest road race riders aboard the high-performance and Italian Championship heritage Ducati bikes this Sunday at the Batangas Racing Circuit.
The event, powered by Monster Energy Drink, is open to all amateur and professional Ducati bike owners and riders who are out to live up their racing dreams and satisfy their passion for speed in a safe and secured perimeter of a real racetrack.
Trophies and other prizes are up for grabs as participants dispute the titles in the Standard, Masters, Superbikes Novice and Superbikes Expert classes.
The reliability, quality and racing excellence of Ducati bikes has caught the fancy of racing fans and enthusiasts worldwide.
Ducati is a natural head-turner for its well-designed Italian high-performance motorbikes with timeless appeal.
It is also worth noting that Ducati owners are successful in their respective fields, making them discerning riders who are not only after the looks but also the superior riding experience that proves Ducati definitely delivers.
Among the big names of motorcycle racing vying for the titles are 2012 Philippine Superbike champion Raniel Resuello, Toti Alberto, John Defensor, Charles Nolasco, John Marcelo, Nikki Romero, Miguel Bichara, Jay Carrion, Lawrence and Aron Macalinao, Vince Mercado and a lot more.
Toti Alberto of Ducati Philippines, the country’s exclusive Ducati distributor, was inspired by the success of Team Ducati Philippines that hauled almost 20 trophies in the Motorcycle Road Racing season finale last October at the Clark International Speedway.
“It was a resounding confirmation of Ducati’s Italian racing championship heritage that Ducati owners clamored for a separate Ducati Cup series. A lot of bikes can be made fast or even set-up faster than a Ducati. But Ducati stock bikes were engineered naturally fast already with no racing modifications and anyone can use it reliably like a regular bike,†Alberto further related.
The other races are set June 22-23 at the Clark International Speedway and the championship round on October 19-20 also at the Clark International Speedway.
