JP Tuason makes racing comeback
MANILA, Philippines - Tuason Racing Team eyes better chances for the overall crown with the big comeback of racing champ and TRS founder and President Jean Pierre Tuason in the kickoff of the 2013 Philipppine Grand Touring Car Championship today at the Batangas Racing Circuit.
JP Tuason, the multi-awarded Racecar driver and first Filipino BMW M Certified Driver trainer, will be campaigning a BMW M3 supported by BMW, Pacific Jet Corporation Bridgestone, Standard Insurance, OMP, PUMA,,Coke Zero, Acer, Aguila, Oakley, C!Magazine, The Bellevue, Karate Kid, Go Pro, Elig, Rota, Toptul and Foil a Car.
Tuason, who last race competitively during the Asian Formula 3 Series, has stepped back to focus on Tuason Racing School and help develop Philippine Motorsports. He had two international driver races in Nurburgring in Germany and Circuit de Spa in Belgium last year in preparation of bringing some of school’s graduate to compete there.
He will be competing in the premiere GT300 class where he’s eyeing an exciting showdown against veteran racers led by defending champion Vincent Floirendo and Jody Coseteng,
“I’m quite excited about this comeback. I’m not promising anything, I might still have to shake off some rust. But I will do my best,†said Tuason,
“We still have a lot of R&D to do on the car; although it came in as a racecar and is currently tuned by US-based Epic motorsports and Bimmerworld, we are at a disadvantage against the seasoned four wheeled drive-turbo charged race cars that will compete again for the title this year.†Tuason added.
Joining him are two drivers under the Tuason Racing School Race Career Management Program (TRS-RCMP) - Veli Matti Kaikkonen who’ll be driving a Mitsubishi Evo with the support of Hafele and Siemens; and South Korean Peter Kim who will be aboard a Hyundai Genesis with the back-up of Eurostandard and S-oil.
