The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Ateneo-B Blue Eagles drew big baskets from the outside in the first half, and swamped the national youth team, 65-48, last Monday in the 19th Fr. Martin Summer Cup basketball tournament at the Trinity University of Asia gym.

Triples scored by the unheralded Kevin Gamboa and Joma Adornado helped the Blue Eagles post their second straight win in Group B.

The Blue Eagles move ahead of the Adamson Falcons and the UP Maroons, who got 11 points from Julius Wong as they put away PATTS College of Aeronautics, 73-39.

In Group A, Cameroonian cager Ahmed Salihon shot 18 points for the Fatima University (1-1), as they turned back Jose Rizal University, 62-58, while Bobby Ray Parks Jr. banged in 19 points for the National University Bulldogs, who prevailed over Letran, 91-49.
