Javier, Mare top ABC quarterly tilt

MANILA, Philippines - Ronnie Javier of Trece Martirez City waxed hot with an eight-game series of 1837 to capture the Group I crown while Greg Mare of Concrete Ventures took the Group 2 title with 1398 in the Architects Bowling Club’s quarterly championship at E Lanes Center in Greenhills, San Juan City last week.

Buddy Segui of Duraflex TW Wires rolled a 1701, Eugene Panaguiton of Dwightsteel scored 1695 and Noel del Rosario of Glass Asia had a 1655 to finish second, third and fourth, respectively, in Group I of the weekly event sponsored by Boysen and Nation Paints.

Bert Magsakay of Emerald Pipes submitted a 1377, Tony Sabater of Spurway came up with a 1326 and Ricky Martinez of Coach Furnitures scored a 1319 to place second, third and fourth, respectively, in Group 2.

The tournament, backed by Morning Sun, JS Alvarez Elect. Contractor, Crown Pipes, Philflex Wires and Cables, Duraflex THHN/THW Wires, Boysen Acrytex/Healthy Homes/Knoxout/Wallguard, Greystone, Energetix, HCG Phils., WeKonstruct, August Alliance, Moldex Pipes, Miraga Trading and DN Steel, resumes at 6:30 tonight at Paeng’s Bowling Lanes at Eastwood City in Libis, Quezon City. The awards rites will be held at Max’s Restaurant at Tiendesitas.
