Olmin Leyba - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Third seed Cameron Norrie of New Zealand capped a solid week by winning the 24th Mitsubishi Lancer International Junior Championships’ boys’ singles title, beating former tormentor Luke Bambridge of Britain, 6-2, 6-4, yesterday at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

A day after thwarting top seed Borna Coric of Croatia in the semis, Norrie continued to show his fine form in hacking out the vengeful straight-set triumph over Bambridge. The British No. 4 had earlier foiled him when they first met in the quarterfinals of the Open d’Istres Ouest Provence in France on April 2012.

“It feels good to get him this time,” said Norrie, who picked up his second title this year after topping the New Zealand 18-U Summer Championships back home last month.
