Late goals power Agila past Manila All-Japan
MANILA, Philippines - Agila FC scored three second half goals, including a brace by Daniel Montemayor, to overhaul an early deficit, pull off a 3-1 win over Manila All-Japan and seize solo second in the Second Division of the United Football League at the McKinley Hill grounds in Taguig City.
After Yohei Tanaka gave Manila All-Japan a 1-0 lead following a 23rd minute goal, Montemayor unleashed a pair of goals in a seven-minute stretch starting on the 59th to give the Agila booters the lead.
Three minutes later, Philip Yemen struck with a rocket to seal the victory for Agila, which improved from fourth place to second with 12 match points on four wins against two defeats.
Idle Team Socceroo remained on top with 18 points on six straight wins.
Laos FC likewise fought from a one-goal deficit with a two second half goals to turn back Forza FC, 2-1.
Rolly Lear and Remi Serge-Alain Sery struck with a goal apiece on the 56th and 73rd minute, respectively, to help carry Laos past Forza.
