Vivas, Castilo reign in Prima mixed doubles

MANILA, Philippines - National players Paul Vivas and Gelita Castilo defeated fellow nationals Joper Escueta and Ge De Vera, 21-13, 21-15, recently to snare the mixed doubles open title of the sixth Prima Pasta National Badminton Championships at the Powersmash badminton court.     

Vivas and Castilo socred the first seven points that earned them a 7-0 lead on the way to their highest lead at 17-8 before winning the first set.

In the mixed doubles level A title clash of the tournament organized by Team Prima chairman Alexander Lim, Rochelle Reyes and Edison Cupcupin of Philippine STAR beat Melvin Llanes and Danica Bolos of Victor, 21-17, 22-20.
