Tri United 1 attracts top Phl triathletes

MANILA, Philippines - Over six hundred triathletes from around the nation will converge at Dungaree Beach in the Subic Bay Freeport as Unilab Active Health’s Tri United 1 race begins in the early morning of March 10.

Organized by BIKEKING (headed by Raul Cuevas) in cooperation with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Tourism Department and presented by Unilab Active Health, the race officially starts the 2013 season of the four-leg Tri United series and at the same time competition on the varied age-group categories on Standard Distance (1.5 Km swim – 40 Km bike – 10 Km run), Sprint Distance (750 M swim – 20 Km bike – 5 Km run) and Teens Distance (750 M swim – 20 Km bike – 5 Km run) is expected to be intense with the presence of elite triathletes as well as a large pool of age-groupers and triathlon clubs.

The event, sponsored by Unilab Active Health, Aboitiz Power, Enervon Activ, Enervon HP, I-on Energy Drink, Hydrite, BIKEKING, 3rd District of Bohol, Pocari Sweat, TIMEX, Crystal Clear Purified Water and Orbea, marks the first of five races BIKEKING has scheduled for the year. Following Tri United 1 are three more races of the Tri United series and the much anticipated SCTEX (Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway) Unilab Active Health duathlon event. To date, the Tri United series has established itself with a very positive reception from triathletes from around the country with each event attracting participants in the hundreds.
