MANILA, Philippines - The 24th Yakult 10-Miler slated March 17 at the CCP Complex in Pasay has so far attracted 1,600 early entries as of last weekend.
Set to start at 5:30 a.m. from the Vicente Sotto St. at the CCP complex in Pasay City, the run will take the southbound side of Roxas Blvd. from P. Burgos St. in Manila to MIA Road in Parañaque. Motorists travelling southbound on Roxas Blvd. are advised to take alternative routes from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.
For the safety and security of participants and spectators at the CCP Complex, the NCR Police Office regional operations division will conduct a meeting Feb. 21 at the Aloha Hotel to brief different task agencies covering the route.
At stake is a total cash prize of P30,000 for the top finishers of the 10-Mile (16 kilometers) run.
According to Michael Ong, Yakult Phils., Inc. manager for sales and planning, a P7,000 cash prize will be awarded to the overall champion and the top female finisher of the 16K centerpiece event.
The second placers will get P3,000, third P2,000, fourth P1,000 and fifth P500. Trophies will also be awarded to the top three men and women finishers of the 16K race, while medals will be awarded to the fourth and fifth placers.
The top three finishers in the 5K and the 3K age group will also receive medals. A bag of Yakult unique health drink with lacto bacilli shirota strain will also be awarded to all winners.
Participants have been issued a starter’s singlet upon registration. All finishers will receive a Yakult finisher’s t-shirt and a bottle of Yakult. A commemorative trophy also awaits the group with the biggest delegation.
Registration is on going until March 13 at Mizuno Trinoma Mall, Mizuno SM Megamall, Mizuno Bonifacio High St. at the Bonifacio Global City and Mizuno SM Mall of Asia.
