Informatics clips Mapua 5

MANILA, Philippines - Informatics stopped Mapua, 61-57, while UP turned back University of Perpetual Help-A, 63-56, in the quarterfinal round of the ninth Fr. Martin Cup Collegiate Open basketball tournament at the Trinity University of Asia gym in QC.

Mark Montuano tallied 25 points for the Icons, who advanced to the second playoff phase of the quarters.        

The Icons, who placed third in Group B with a 4-2 (win-loss) record, earned the right to meet the top-seeded Adamson Falcons for a semifinals berth.
