‘Run Against Cancer’ slated on April 20

MANILA, Philippines — In an effort to raise cancer awareness, cancer support group Corridor of Hope Inc., initiated by St. Lukes Medical Center, will be staging “Run Against Cancer” on April 20 at the Bonifacio Global City Grounds in Taguig.

Three categories – 3k, 6k and 10k – will be offered in the charity run organized by Huper International with Running Mate as the principal partner.

According to the World Health Organization, cancer remains of the most deadly epidemic in the world, accounting for 7.6 million deaths (around 13 percent of all deaths). Recent studies in the Philippines also reveal a steady increase in cancer incidence.

The event is expected to attract support from allied medical practitioners, corporate partners, other cancer support groups, and cancer patients’ families.

Interested parties/runners can register at the following outlets: Toby’s Arena at SM Mall of Asia, Toby’s Sports at Robinson’s Galleria, Toby’s Sports Glorietta Makati and Brooks Store at SM Annex North Edsa from March 30 to April 18.

Walk-in registration is also available at the following offices of Corridor of Hope Inc. in St. Luke’s Medical Centers: 4th floor hospital building, E. Rodriguez Avenue, Quezon City; and 2nd floor hospital building, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Prices for the each category are P600 for 3k, P700 for 6k and P800 for 10k.
