Philta circuit up at La Carlota
MANILA, Philippines - Negros Occidental takes its turn to host the Philta-Palawan Pawnshop Regional age-group tennis tournament when the fourth leg is held beginning today in La Carlota City.
The Group 3 tournament is expected to lure the city’s top players and rising stars along with those from the neighboring towns and provinces, guaranteeing another tight battle for top honors in various divisions.
“It has been very inspiring to see more and more players join and compete in the circuit. And we expect another record field this week in Negros Occidental,†said Bobby Castro, COO of the sponsoring Palawan Pawnshop.
Guillermo Nocom, president of the circuit’s other chief backer Technosports, exclusive distributor of Babolat, reiterated their commitment to support Philta’s effort to discover talents in the countryside and develop and train them to become future national players.

Meanwhile, Bacolod will host the fifth leg on Feb. 14-18 for the last leg of the first Visayas swing before action shifts into full gear on March 1-17 for the Olivarez-Philta Open age group, inter-collegiate and interclub championships at the Olivarez Sports Center in Sucat, Parañaque.
