Olongapo hosts PSL swim
MANILA, Philippines - Fil-American Charles William Walker, UAAP standout Claire Adoma of the University of the Philippines and US-trained Gian Berino display their wares in the first Vice Mayor Rolen Paulino Invitational Swimming Competition, 38th leg of the Philippine Swimming League Series, Feb. 10 at the Columbian College pool in Olongapo.
The swimming series, hosted by Blue Python Swimming Team headed by Rodel Chia and Rolly de la Cruz, is organized by DPS under former Sen. Nikki Coseteng and PSL under president Susan Papa.
More than 350 swimmers from Olongapo, Antipolo, Manila, Pasay, Quezon City, Caloocan, Navotas, Bulacan, Baguio, Antipolo, Bataan, Zambales, Pangasinan and Parañaque are expected to compete in the event which also serves as a selection process for international competitions in Phuket (Thailand), Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Dubai.
The event is open to all swimmers. No membership is required.
The age categories are 6-under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 and 18-above and over.
Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three finishers for boys and girls while trophies will be awarded to the most outstanding boys and girls in each age group and to the overall team champion.
