Rexona, Master back Jr NBA cage program

MANILA, Philippines - Rexona and Master are supporting Jr. NBA Philippines, the prestigious youth basketball program that kicked off recently at the British School Manila in Taguig.

Recognized globally, the program provides aspiring Filipinos a venue to develop their basketball skills, learn sportsmanship and have a shot at the Jr. NBA All-Star Team.

Open to cage hopefuls from age 10 and up, the program offers a series of activities, including regional and national camps and clinics, that will test their talents, develop their skills and prepare them for the real hard court.

Highlight will be the selection of the 10 best campers who will form the 2013 Jr. NBA Philippine All-Star Team. These camp standouts will get the chance to live the NBA experience, just like last year’s Jr. NBA Phl All-Star Team, which got to compete in Shanghai and met their NBA idols in person.

Now on its sixth consecutive year in the country, the program receives support from Rexona and Master. The two leading deodorant and skin care brands for men believe that Filipinos have great potential in sports, particularly in basketball. They join Jr. NBA Philippines in developing young talents and preparing each participant to be confident, responsible adults with a winning attitude towards sports.

“Being part of the Jr. NBA gives us the opportunity to help build young Filipino athletes. The program not only expands the young players’ knowledge and ability about the sport, but also teaches him important values such as sportsmanship and teamwork that will be very beneficial to his overall growth and development,” said Rexona brand manager Anne Remulla.

“Getting into sports is an effective avenue for the youth to gain good character and confidence,” Master brand manager Jonathan Pua said for his part. “Also, as the biggest and the No. 1 skin care brand for men in the Philippines, Master is here to give young men the winning look both on and off the court.”

As major sponsors, the brands will also promote proper grooming and hygiene among the participants. This makes for a program that not only focuses on skills and discipline but also on having the confidence and winning look before and after each game.

The Jr. NBA Philippines is expected to have an even bigger and better program as well as more exciting and rewarding experiences for its participants this year with the support of Rexona and Master.
