World Slasher semis under way

MANILA, Philippines - Action in the World Slasher Cup heats up today with the staging of the two semifinal sessions starting at 10 a.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Entries from the Jan. 21 elims and those with scores of 0, 0.5 or one point from the Jan. 22 prelims go head-to-head for spots in the championship set Jan. 27.

Howard Inafuku of Hawaii and partner Sonny Lagon scored two points each for their entries Eliong Gonzaga Hiwaii and Eliong Gonzaga Hiwaii-1 while Thunderbird Powervet team members Nestor Vendivil (Oliver Mistah ’75-I) with Rico Reyes and Passi City Mayor Jesry Palmares (Cobra JP TR) handled by Teng Rañola and financed by Atong Ang, also came through with big wins along with Alabama’s Will Kolet (WRK-Wallace Farm/Alabama Samurai).

Hosted by the Pintakasi of Champions, the seven-day event is co-presented by Thunderbird Romoxtyl and sponsored by Bmeg, Sagupaan and Supremo.

The Cyber Ilocano Cockers Association also landed in the winner’s circle as R-mand Macadaeg and the Javillo brothers posted two wins for their entries JMJ Brothers Pangasinan Bunkmates CICA SD.
