La Salle golf up at Wack-Wack

MANILA, Philippines - Registration is still on for the 21st Br. Alphonsus Bloemen Golf Cup where well-crafted trophies and valuable raffle prizes and giveaways await winners in the Class A, B, C, D, Seniors’ and Friends divisions, and Batch Championship on Sunday at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club.

The Bloemen Golf Cup  is the annual fund-raising event of the La Salle Green Hills Alumni Association (LSGHAA) for the education of the poor and marginalized. It is also the kick-off event of the 2013 Animo Golf Tour Series hosted by different LSAA members in the country. 

According to tournament chairman Peng Perez de Tagle, slots are still available for the 8 a.m. Shot Gun start. Entry fee is P3,500, which is inclusive of green fee, lunch buffet, giveaways and raffle.

Prizes at stake are Piaggio APE 3-wheel Utility Vehicle from the Autohub Group and a golf cart from Club Car Phils.

The Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corp. is donating  P100,000 for a hole in one.

 Over the years, the beneficiary of this fundraiser is the LSGH Adult Night High School, which has provided La Salle quality education to less fortunate adults. This year, the beneficiary is the Jaime Hilario Integrated School in Bagac, Bataan.

A La Salle school is catering to the less fortunate community in that area of Luzon, which offers primary and secondary education at an annual subsidized fee of only P500 and integrated into the curriculum are agriculture and fisheries, the main sources of livelihood of the local folk.

The tournament is backed by PLDT, East-West Bank and Toyota Motors Phl, and sponsored by MRT Dev. Corp., Lockton Insurance, Bayo, Manila Water, Miladay Jewelry, Manila Memorial Park, Manila Airport Hot, and the DLSAA.
