MANILA, Philippines - Red Diwa of Isabela Extreme stamped his class to rule the 2012 National Association of Filipino OffRoaders (NAsFOR) Driver of the Year at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga recently.
The victory came on the heels of his emphatic triumph in the 2012 Philippine Tough Truck Challenge XII, capping another banner year for NAsFOR now under new president Ramon To-ong.
The event, presented by 199 Off-Road House and sponsored by Colt 45, RaceTech Suspensions, Maxxis Tires and Casio Protrek the official timer of the Philippine Tough Truck Challenge, drew 45 competitors from as far as Tuguegarao in the north and Bukidnon in the south.
Diwa, the outgoing NasFOR VP for Luzon, bagged his second NasFOR Driver of the Year in three years with 233 championship points after clinching the top plum in 2009.
Kapampangan Racing Team’s Edison Dungca finished second with 181 points while last year’s Driver of the Year Reynan Jayme had 127 points for third.
Kapampangan Racing Team emerged as team champion of the year.
The championship points were accumulated from the 12 legs of the 2012 NasFOR National 4x4 Extreme Series.
