Lozada school launches Swimming Phl; new magazine off the press in February
MANILA, Philippines - Angelo Lozada, president of the country’s biggest swimming school – the Bert Lozada Swimming School – is promoting the sport of swimming through provincial competitions and the publication of a new bimonthly magazine, Swim Philippines.
Lozada launched the program with the holding of the first Swim Philippines Inter-School Swimming Competition today at the Montessori de Sagrada Familia (MDSF) Swim Center in Baliuag, Bulacan.
“The bold move to hold the event outside of Metro Manila aims to accommodate teams from farther up of Luzon who cannot travel all the way to Manila for a one-day event,” Lozada said. “The competition in Baliuag is just the first in a series of swim meets we will mount.”
Lozada said the next two years will be busy years for Swim Philippines as they take the competitions to Ilocos, Bicol, Negros Occidental and Misamis Oriental as well.
“We feel we need to go to their hometowns, to provide them a stage where they can represent their region and be given the chance to excel. That’s why we’re going full blast in 2013 and the coming years,” said Lozada.
Lozada serves as publisher of Swim Philippines, published by Torque Integrated, which gives swimmers interesting information about the sport.
The magazine, an accredited FINA media correspondent, is distributed for free and will be available in most Toby’s branches. The maiden issue comes out in February 2013.
Showing their support to the day’s event at the MDSF are the biggest names in swimming gear. Aqua Sphere, Speedo, TYR and Zoggs have installed booths where special discounts and promotions await Baliuag residents who wish to do some Christmas shopping.
