Team GT Radial tops with 159 laps in supreme test of endurance
MANILA, Philippines - Team GT Radial completed 159 laps in a gruelling six-hour test of endurance of man and machine and won overall honors at the close of the Philippine Endurance Cup recently around the Batangas Racing Circuit.
Team Radial took both the overall championship and Phl Cup in a black Honda EK Hatchback driven by Mark Dy, Michael Bryan Co and Alan Arguelles.
The first runner-up overall, running 155 laps, went to Veli-Matti Kaikkonen, Juha Rohia, Stefan Wolf and Jussi Hoikka of Team All Stars aboard a Ford Fiesta. They were also the FM2 and FM1 champions.
Second runner-up overall was the team of Stuart MacDonald, Sean Redpath, Alvin Ng and Francisco Blanco of Team Red Racing who ran 152 laps in a Ford Fiesta.
Team champions were TRS-All Stars and Red Racing. First runners-up were Flat out 1 and 2 while second runner-up honors went to My Mitsu CB and CK.
Ten teams were entered in the event with team members varying from three to six each.
A grand total of 1,115 laps were completed on the final day, showing the sheer durability of the cars which ran flawlessly on the spec tires for the event – the GT Radial SX-1 Tires.
The event was supported by GT Radial, HKS Super Oil, Rota Wheels, Staging Lanes, Dixcel Brake Pads, Monster Energy Drink and Coca-Cola.
