La Salle, PSBA cruise in NCRAA volley opener
MANILA, Philippines - Defending champion La Salle-Dasmariñas and Philippine School of Business Administration toppled their respective rivals in straight-set fashions in the opener of the 20th National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) women’s volleyball tournament yesterday.
The Lady Patriots banked mostly on their rookies to fend off the Rizal Technological University Lady Thunder, 25-20, 25-13, 25-15, at the Olivarez College Sports Complex in Sucat, Parañaque.
The PSBA Lady Jaguars, on the other hand, turned on the heat in the second set and walloped the PATTS College of Aeronautics Sea Lionesses, 25-13, 25-19, 25-18, in the event backed by Mikasa and Molten Balls.
Over at the Philippine Merchant Marine School gymnasium in Las Piñas, the RTU Blue Thunder repulsed the Olivarez College Sea Lions, 23-25, 25-14, 25-14, 25-18, in men’s play.
