AMA Cup on

MANILA, Philippines - Over 10 schools are competing in the inaugural AMA Cup with the national Under-13 squad battling the AMA Lady Titans to a 104-all draw in an exhibition match highlighting yesterday’s start of the newly renovated AMA gym.

Hope Christian Academy and St. John School head the cast that includes BMS School, St. Clare Caloocan, Diliman Preparatory School, Benedictine Abbey International School, Lourdes School, and QC St. Patrick School.

In line with its basketball program, AMA constructed three basketball full courts, a first in AMA University, according to tournament organizer Aldric Manrique, director of St. Augustine International School, sister school of AMA.

JC Baltazar topscored with 22 points for the U-13 squad with Fot Dazo adding 20 markers.

The Lady Titans, the NAASCU first runners-up, drew 24 markers from NAASCU rookie of the year Angela Ballesteros while Mikee Castellano added 21 points for the hosts.

The AMA Cup is supported by Ambassador Amable Aguiluz, first vice president Arnel Hibo, head of basketball operations Mark Herrera and school principal Elena Lopez.
