The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Juvic Pagunsan fired a three-under 69 to trail former Major champion Charl Schwartzel of South Africa by four at the start of the $1 million Thailand Golf Championship at the Amata Spring Country Club in Bangkok yesterday.

Pagunsan gunned down four birdies against a lone bogey to join the likes of Sergio Garcia and Thongjai Jaidee at 10th, four strokes behind the former Masters champion who shot a bogey-free seven-under 65 to lead the star-studded field.

Schwartzel birdied three of the last six holes at the back from where he started then rattled four birdies at the front to complete a 32-33 round and open a one-stroke lead over Thai Thitiphun Chuayprakong, who made a 66.
